ADOLESCENT REALITIES

Why Is It Suddenly So Hard?

From the ages of 6-18 months, your previously well-behaved puppy's brain is going through a massive rewiring phase. The challenges you're facing are completely normal—and more importantly, they are temporary.

Exhausting Lead Pulling

The relaxed walks you used to enjoy have turned into a constant physical battle, leaving you both frustrated and stressed by the time you finally return home.

'Selective Hearing'

Their previously reliable recall has vanished. It feels as though they’ve completely forgotten their name or simply choose to ignore you when faced with distractions.

Over-excitement

Manageable puppy enthusiasm has evolved into inappropriate greetings, intense frustration, or wild sensitivity around other dogs, making public outings feel overwhelming rather than fun.

METHODOLOGY

The Pathway to Calm

A structured, three-step framework designed exclusively for adolescent dogs. We won’t just address the symptoms; we'll rebuild the foundation of your relationship.

Session 01

Creating Calm

Before we can ask for focus, we must establish a baseline of relaxation. Did you know that calmness is actually a skill that you can teach? We'll teach your adolescent dog how to settle organically, process their environment without overwhelm, and build emotional regulation. This foundational step reduces the background anxiety that often triggers reactive behavior.

Session 02

Building Focus

With a calm foundation sorted, we'll next introduce structured engagement. This phase is about teaching your dog to choose you over distractions. We'll replace lunging and pulling with voluntary check-ins, creating reliable attention even in high-stimulation environments.

session 03

Restoring the Bond

This final session explores methods of connection and communication that you can build on for years to come; using simple, fun exercises, we'll rebuild and strengthen skills such as recall and lead walking that will help you and your dog to enjoy time spent together again - no more stress, no more aggravation, just clear struture and support where it's most needed.

CLARITY & CONFIDENCE

Ready to Reconnect? Your Questions Answered

We know that deciding on the right training path for your adolescent dog is a big step. If you're wondering about scheduling, what to expect, or if this program is the right fit to rebuild your bond, you'll find the answers below.

Is my dog too old or too young for this?

This package is specifically designed for adolescent dogs aged 6-18 months. It targets the unique developmental and behavioral shifts that emerge during this challenging stage, so if you're the owner of a dog who is younger or older, check out my packages for puppies and adult dogs, or book your free discovery call with me to chat further!

How quickly can I schedule my sessions?

You'll be able to book your first session right away, and usually I will have slots available for the upcoming week. Since consistency is key, I recommend scheduling your 3 sessions roughly one to two weeks apart to allow for practice in between.

Will this help with leash pulling and reactivity?

Absolutely. Overexcitement, frustration, and sensitivity around other dogs are classic adolescent challenges. This structured pathway focuses entirely on teaching your dog to remain calm and attentive around real-world distractions.

Do I need to do homework between sessions?

Yes! We lay the foundation during our time together, but your consistency at home is what solidifies their learning. The daily reps are how you truly rebuild your bond and connection. I'll be providing you with plenty of resources to make this easy, including demo videos and digital trackers to keep on top of practice and progress.

What if I have to reschedule a session?

Not a problem - All I require is 48 hours' notice for rescheduling to avoid losing a session credit. I understand life happens, and will do my best to get you rescheduled to another suitable time when given enough warning.
